Responsibilities of a Front Desk

Greeting and Assisting Guests – Welcoming visitors, clients, or customers and directing them as needed.

Handling Inquiries – Answering phone calls, emails, and in- person questions about the business.

Managing Appointments & Check- ins – Scheduling meetings, handling reservations, and processing guest check- ins/check- outs (especially in hotels).

Administrative Tasks – Managing paperwork, maintaining records, and processing payments if necessary.

Security & Access Control – Monitoring visitor entry, issuing passes, and ensuring security protocols are followed.

Skills Required for a Front Desk Role

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Professional appearance and demeanor

Knowledge of office software and reservation systems (for hotels or businesses)
