POSITION DETAILS

Term: Full time fixed contract

Salary: AED 137,429 – AED 148,757 per annum plus AED 79,200 per annum housing allowance

The AFP Office Manager works to the Senior Police Liaison Officer to provide critical administrative support to the AFP operational members deployed to the United Arab Emirates. The position is based full time in Abu Dhabi, with occasional travel to other locations possibly required.

DUTIES
The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain an awareness of key investigations, strategic and operational activities to enable accurate and timely response to domestic and international law enforcement partners under direction of the Senior Police Liaison Officer;
- Maintain and update operational file databases;
- Provide briefings, advice and expertise to the AFP Liaison Officers on a range of financial, administrative and personnel issues;
- Manage office administration functions including but not limited to;
o asset management, including purchasing, maintenance and disposal.
o property management
o human resource support to AFP personnel, including management of leave, performance appraisals and agreements
o facilitate and contribute to AFP, DFAT and Whole of Australian Government reporting requirements.
- Manage and coordinate travel and schedules of meetings for visiting officials and AFP Liaison Officers based in the UAE and region of responsibility;
- Assist with organising and coordinating official functions;
- Provide support for official visits including, but not limited to, preparation of suitable visit programs;
- Maintain and analyse computer based information systems used by the AFP, including but not limited to word processors, database and spreadsheet software.
- Assist with the financial administration of the office including but not limited to;
o accounts payable
o financial expenditure acquittal
o budget management
o management of financial records
o Fringe Benefits Tax reporting
- Prepare correspondence on operational and policy issues on behalf of and at the direction of the AFP Liaison Officers;
- Contribute to the development of AFP UAE business plans.
- Undertake and contribute to projects at the direction of the Senior Police Liaison Officer.
- Liaise, collaborate and build partnerships with key AFP, Australian Embassy, Australian Consulate-General and external agencies to ensure appropriate support as required by the Senior Police Liaison Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
A. Excellent administrative and organisational skills including analytic and computer-based skills.
B. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) in English and Arabic preferred.
C. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and a very high standard of integrity.
D. Project Management skills.
E. Capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision and a willingness to take initiative and show professional drive and tenacity.
F. Ability to hold and maintain an Australian security clearance at Negative Vetting One (Secret) standard.
G. Possession of a current UAE Driver’s License.
